Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Slowly add the warm water and olive oil, and mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425F (220C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a ball. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet.
- Make some incisions on the top of the dough with a sharp knife and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing and serving.
Note: If you don’t have active dry yeast, you can use instant yeast. Just add it with the flour, sugar and salt.
