Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cup fine almond flour
  • ¼ cup psyllium husk powder
  • 1/3 cup fine coconut flour
  • ¼ cup flax seed powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • 5 medium egg whites
  • 1 medium egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk, or keto buttermilk (½ cup unsweetened almond milk + ½ tbsp lemon juice)
  • 3 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup warm water

Instructions:

  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients in one place.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, psyllium husk powder, coconut flour, flax seed powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites, egg, buttermilk, and apple cider vinegar together.
  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
  5. Gradually add warm water to the mixture and continue mixing until a dough forms. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Dust your kitchen surface with almond flour and transfer the dough onto the surface. Gently knead the dough until you form a nice round ball.
  7. Place the dough in a greased baking dish and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  8. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the heat to 300°F (150°C) and continue baking for 1 hour. Uncover the bread and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Notes:

  • Optional: Dust the bread with almond flour and carve it into the desired shape before baking.
  • If carving the bread, cover it with aluminum foil during baking to prevent the almond flour from burning.
  • If not carving the bread, bake it as described without covering with aluminum foil.
