The Best Banana Bread


  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Add flour and baking powder to the banana mixture, stir just until flour is moistened.
  5. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
  7. Let the loaf cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack. Enjoy your homemade banana bread!
